Mischa Barton

Barton has been in the theater as well as film and television. She is American-born and British. Slavs, Tony's show in the New York's Lincoln Center was her first theatrical performance. She also played the main part in James Lapine's Twelve Dreams. Her first acting experience was an appearance in 1996 as a guest on All My Children. In the Nickelodeon show, KaBlam!, she also voiced one of the characters. from 1996 until 1997. Her debut role as an actor was Lawn Dogs, a drama with Sam Rockwell. In 1999, she starred for the first time in M. Night Shyamalan's psychological thriller The Sixth Sense and the romantic comedy film Notting Hill. Also, she was a part of the independent crime drama Pups. Barton was Evan Rachel Wood's love-interest on ABC's Once and Again in 2001 and in the independent film Lost and Delirious in 2001. Her role was as Marissa Cooper on the Fox TV show The O.C. in 2003-2006 the actress was honored with two Teen Choice Awards. Barton has been named the "It Girl in 2003" by Entertainment Weekly because she played the role. Barton was a part of the character in Richard Attenborough's dramatic Closing the Ring as well as in the comedy St Trinian's Assassination of a high school president and Assassination of the President.
