Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn is an American actor from the United States. Her most well-known role is her role as Skyler White on the AMC television drama Breaking Bad for which she was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting actress in the Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. Other roles she has played include Jean Ward in The Practice and Martha Bullock from Deadwood. Born in Sante Fe, New Mexico in the year 1968, Anna Gunn fell in love with the art of acting during Preparatory School prior to her family's move to Ohio at the end of the 1970's. The actress attended the British American Drama Academy and pursued a degree in theater in the theatre department at Northwestern University. Anna was employed in the theatre of the Chicago city for a few months before she tried her luck in TV as well as films. Anna made her debut in 1992 when she appeared as Arden for 29 seasons of Down the Shore. After a brief appearance as a Guest on several TV shows and movies, including Seinfeld as well as NYPD Blue in the 90's, she was cast as Jean Ward as part of The Practice. The role was played by Martha Bullock in Deadwood for two seasons throughout the decade of 2000. Skyler played her part in Breaking Bad. Sully was the Deadwood film, and a few other movies included her. Gunn has also been seen on stages in David Schwimmer's production Sex With Strangers. She played the role in the four-part podcast audio drama Numbered days, which is set to be released in 2022. The relationship that exists between Walter White and his wife Skyler is the most prominent element of the story of Breaking Bad with the strained tension in their relationship, as well as its eventual collapse echoing the same storyline of Walter White's end of life.
